Two years ago, I posted photos of photographer Peter Vitale's Santa Fe home as it appeared in Veranda magazine decorated for Christmas. I just picked up the Winter edition of Milieu magazine and discovered pictures of the Los Angeles apartment Mr. Vitale shares with his partner Harry Greiner, "a noted antiquarian." The apartment now serves as the two men's primary residence. Some of the furnishings - such as the T.H. Robsjohn-Gibbings klismos chair - have moved from Santa Fe to Los Angeles. Take a look at the photos of the two homes and see which elements are the same. I will share the Los Angeles photos from Milieu first. Tom Boland provided design assistance with this apartment.

"The bedroom of a West Hollywood apartment is kept serene with a palette of grays and soft neutrals used on linen curtains, a headboard, Ralph Lauren shams, Irving and Morrison throw, and artworks."

"A walnut Spanish Colonial campaign table is set against a wall in the dining room. The hues of the eighteenth-century Spanish gilt mirror echo those of the decorative ceiling molding, which dates to the building's construction in 1931."

" 'The dining room faces north, so it's as though it's backlit all the time,' says Vitale. The room's theatricality is heightened by gold paint applied to the molding and the gilt wood framing eighteenth-century Spanish Colonial mirrors. Cassina chairs are grouped around a Kartell glass and chrome table set on a Woodnotes rug."

Here are the photos of the Peter Vitale's Santa Fe home, which appeared in the November/December 2007 edition of Veranda. As I noted when I first posted these photos in November 2012, I love his use of green, gold and white, as well as the serene beauty of the devotional art and the Spanish Colonial antiques he and his partner, Harry Greiner, have collected.
